Brits Award -It's showtime!
Mark Ronson just performed with a host of star guests including ADELE and Daniel Merriweather. But far outshining them all in rumourville was Amy Winehouse, a duet everyone for the past month has been whispering about.
People weren’t sure she would make it because of her past track record of cancelled gigs. Amy wasn’t in good enough shape for the past couple gigs, and pulled out of several. But recent weeks have seen her reformed and on the mend. She busted out of the back of the stage (and her plaid bustier) and joined Ronson in a rendition of the Zutons’ song Valerie.
Initially a bit behind the quick tempo, Winehouse looked a little nervous and twitchy. She played so much with her extensions that she ripped a bit out and quickly flicked them away. Yucky!
But in a moment she was belting out the song on key and in time, adding flourishes and arpeggiated vocals that quite simply rocked. She could do without the skirt pulling (that leopard mini got even mini-er with all her tugging!) but everyone was happy for Amy the comeback queen of the BRITs 2008!

Portman & Johansson
- Animal lover NATALIE PORTMAN is using the red carpet to promote her new Vegan line of shoes, which just debuted at Té Casan shoe designers. The 'V for Vendetta' starlet proudly wore her black faux-patent leather pumps at Friday's event in Berlin with SCARLETT JOHANSSON to promote their new period piece, 'The Other Boleyn Girl.'
Earlier that week, the self-professed Vegan unveiled the collection in-store at Manhattan's Té Casan. So what are Vegan shoes? They're "cruelty free" because they don't use leather or any animal products.
But are they pain-free for humans? Judge for yourself by perusing Natalie's collection above, which includes ballet flats, strappy sandals and pumps, retailing for about $250 a pop.

Ono San has not taken any legal action against Lennon Murphy.
LATEST: Late BEATLE JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO has slammed "hurtful" reports claiming she is suing a singer/songwriter for naming her band LENNON.
Ono was reported to have filed court papers accusing rocker Lennon Murphy of fraudulently registering Lennon as a trademark and for the "tarnishment" and exploitation of her late husband's name.
But the 74-year-old insists she has not taken legal action against Murphy she simply tried to stop her from getting the exclusive rights to use the name Lennon for performance purposes by notifying the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ono says, "I am really hurt if people thought that I told a young artist to not use her own name in her performances and had sought to sue her. I did no such thing. I hope this allegation will be cleared." John Lennon was shot dead in New York City in December 1980.

Hollywood film director Steven Spielberg has resigned as an artistic adviser to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing accusing China of not doing enough to pre
In a statement, Spielberg said he had made "repeated efforts" to encourage the Chinese government to bring its influence to bear on Sudan to end the "continuing human suffering" in the conflict-strewn western Darfur region. China is a leading oil customer and supplier of weapons to Sudan and is accused by critics of providing diplomatic cover for Khartoum as it stonewalls international efforts to send peacekeepers into Darfur. At least 200,000 have died and more than 2.5 million have been driven from their homes in the five-year conflict.

The actor died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.
The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for Vicodin, a painkiller.
And, finally, we have resolution.

Conservatorship
Updated Fri. Feb. 1 2008 8:02 PM ET
The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES -- The father of Britney Spears was named her temporary conservator Friday, putting him in control of her welfare a day after she was whisked to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
While James Spears was named conservator of the troubled pop star herself, he and an attorney, Andrew Wallete, were name conservators of her estate. The singer's mother, Lynne Spears, also showed up for the unannounced hearing in Superior Court.
The court also issued a restraining order against Britney Spears' sometimes manager and friend, Sam Lutfi, and gave permission to change the locks on her estate and remove anyone who is there.
A court creates conservatorships when a person cannot care for themselves or handle their affairs. Commissioner Reva Goetz said Spears would be under conservatorship until Feb. 4, at which time another hearing will be held.
"It is in the best interests of the conservatee to have conservatorship over her person," Goetz told a packed courtroom.
The conservator will have the power to "restrict visitors," have around-the-clock security for Spears, and have access to all medical records, Goetz said.
Goetz said conservatorship over the estate was "necessary and appropriate." She gave approval for the conservator to "take all actions to secure all liquid assets including credit cards."
