Kylie Minogue

Saturday December 22,2007
By Elisa Roche, Showbusiness Editor
ALL eyes were on Kylie Minogue in her skin-tight dress and gold stilettos.
And the fans knocked out by sparkling Kylie included Sir Paul McCartney and Jools Holland.

The pop star was a guest on Holland’s annual Hootenanny, which will air on December 31 but which was recorded last week.

In the BBC2 show Kylie duets with Sir Paul, reveals her New Year’s resolutions, and then finishes with a seductive rendition of I Should Be So Lucky.

“I want a growth spurt,” she tells Holland, in one of his trademark chats by the piano. “I’ll be 40 next year and I’d like to be longer please.”

The pop star then treats celebrity guests Dawn French and David Tennant to a duet with music legend Sir Paul.

The pair sing Dance Tonight, one of the more upbeat singles from the former Beatle’s new album Memory Almost Full.

The song will be played minutes before the midnight gongs to see in the New Year.

“The Hootenanny is going to be one of the best ever,” said a studio guest. “The set was very open and Kylie, Macca and all the VIPs were mingling with everyone else.

“Kylie sat next to Sir Paul for most of the night and he was being a real gent, making sure her glass was full and pulling out her chair for her.”

Michael Flatley sex accuser to pay dancer £5.4million

A judge has ordered a woman who accused Michael Flatley of sexual assault to pay the Riverdance star more than £5.4 million after finding she made false allegations to extort money from him, according to documents.

The judgment order, signed by Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern, stated that Tyna Marie Robertson, a real estate agent, had defamed and intentionally inflicted emotional distress upon Flatley, 49, who also appeared in "Lord of the Dance," "Feet of Flames" and "Celtic Tiger."

Spice Girls UK gig

The Spice Girls failed to impress most of the critics who went to see them on Saturday at London's O2 Arena.

However, for the thousands of fans who were there, it was great to have the five-piece perform their first UK gig in nine years, the first of 16 shows at the former Millennium Dome.

Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell's show included 22 songs and even Bunton joined in after spraining her ankle at a previous performance.

John Lennon's hair

Lennon's hair highlight of auction
A shorn lock of John Lennon's hair has fetched £24,000 at auction as part of a sale of Beatles' memorabilia built up by a former hairdresser to the Fab Four.
The hair was sold to an unnamed telephone bidder as the highlight of a sale of the Betty Glasow collection of Beatles and film memorabilia held at Gorringes auction house in Worthing, West Sussex.
Accompanying the lock, which is stuck in a copy of Lennon's 1965 book A Spaniard In The Works, is a hand-written message which reads: "To Betty, lots of love and hair, from John Lennon xx."
