Dave Clark Why turned down MBE from Harold Wilson.


His contemporaries might have knighthoods, but the leader of the Dave Clark Five took a different approach to his career - and with a Rolls-Royce in the garage, he's hardly complaining

"I was at a party in Alexandra Palace tobogganing on the ski slope," he recalls, "got whiplashed at 40mph, put my hands out to balance myself, and three fingers got caught in the artificial snow. I broke four knuckles. I have not drummed since." Dave Clark

The international controversy surrounding the banning of the German heavy-metal band Scorpions' cover art for their 1976 album 'Virgin Killer' from Wikipedia is nothing new. Rock and roll has always been a form of rebellion challenging societal norms. Album cover art has often pushed the envelope of what people find too lewd, repulsive, or indecent.
